Detroit Children's Museum to reopen in June
The Detroit Children's Museum, closed in August due to budget cuts, will reopen in June. Detroit Public Schools and the Detroit Science Center will work together to operate the museum, reports Detroit Free Press:
The Science Center will reorganize and create new hands-on exhibits that will provide in-depth exploration of science, math, reading and social studies concepts. Teachers will be able to get training on how to connect the museum's educational experiences to classroom lessons.
New programs will include family events, such as "Mommy & Me," and "Daddy & Me" activities. Open house tours will be held in March for sneak peeks.
