About the Listen Up Mayor Campaign
Detroit families are on the frontlines of America’s economic crisis and we are struggling in many ways. Even so, we know that investing in our kids is the key to a better future – and nobody knows what our kids need more than parents do.
That’s why the Detroit Parent Network (DPN) created Listen Up, Mayor! – a campaign to set an agenda that addresses your biggest concerns and your best ideas.
Throughout the summer, Detroit Parent Network hit the streets to find out what parents think the Mayor needs to prioritize to make Detroit a better place for our kids. These ideas shaped The Agenda for Detroit Kids, which outlines what the Mayor must work to acheive:
- Safe Communities
- High-Functioning Schools
- Out-of-School Time Opportunities
- Family Friendly Development
- Reliable Transportation
DPN will encourage the Mayor to take action on the issues that matter most to kids in Detroit. At the end of the year, DPN will grade him on his progress and share his grade so you can chart his progress and hold him accountable to the issues that matter most.
Get involved and share your ideas and concerns. We all need to work together to shape the city’s future and improve the lives of Detroit kids.
